History of old water tower in Oakland ?

Ok... Bay Area Natives... When I was a kid, I recall a huge cylindrical, light blue structure in Oakland on Coliseum Way near 50th Ave. I always thought it was a water tower. This structure was torn down in the late 80's or early 90's. Anyone know the history of it and know of an Internet image of it online ? Hard one I know... but thanks in advance.

I don't know...maybe try calling EBMUD and ask?

Sounds like a fire tower not sure though, best way to get this information is head to your local city hall or Library for that city, public records of structures, if no one can answer your question on the boards.
