The Redpath family are first recorded in the village of Redpath in Berwickshire, Scotland.  In an undated document, probably written about 1200, Edward de Redpath is mentioned.  Around 1300, William de Redpath signed the Ragmans Roll of persons swearing fealty to King Edward I of England.  Since then, the Redpath family (also spelt Ridpath) has travelled to other areas, notably London.
