History of the name Della?

I know it means Bright or Noble, and is of both German and English origin, but I'm looking for more specific details, such as what time period it originated from, when it became popular, was it ever common in Scotland or Norway, and any other details that aren't commonly found when googled. If anybody knows more specifics please let me know!
