  1. Really, I feel like saying you should find this on your own, but I'll give a little bit of input.

    It was part of the NEW DEAL and stood for WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION.  It was a program to provide work for unemployed in the public sector.  Some of these projects are still around.

       Well, I guess you can google the terms "New Deal" "WPA" and "Kansas".

    ***um, floree's search got her an article on public works programs in KC, MO during the Depression funded by the city, not the feds...it won't be relevant***
