sorry, i posted this and never came up in the main forum:

Is it true that people got tired of a tyrant, in response of that, they gave people a hero?

i meant old, and then, new testament

when the authors of the Bible released the old testament, they saw not a good effect on people, so they decided to release the new testament, with a nicer main character.

that's what i've heard, how is it possible? what do they mean?

the Bible is the word of God, isn't it?

  1. 1. The Bible is a collection of old books, myths, polemics, political histories written to curry favor with the rulers, and fictional history to create a glorious past for returning exiles to cling to. It was not dictated by a divine being and it's writers are often in conflict over issues like the importance of the temple and animal sacrifice. If you had studied the literature acadmically, instead of simply accepting what you are told about it, this would be obvious. This is why so many orthodox Christians who go to seminary, like myself, end up atheists.

    2. The God of Israel and the Three-headed God of Paul who fathers children with human women and demands human sacrifice have nothing to with each other. pre-exilic Judaism had no concepts of afterlife, h**l, and certainly no notion that you could execute and innocent someone in the criminal's place.

  2. All of those statements are false.

  3. The bible was written by uneducated, goat herders, on a power trip.  There are so many books missing, you can't make heads or tails of it.

The Old Testament is particularly barbaric, so they probably decided to tone it down for the New Testament, to make it more appealing.
