A friend of mine was driving my truck down an interstate at 65 mph. He said he hit a pothole, herd something snap, and lost control of the truck. The truck came to a stop without him hitting anything, but the wheel was barely on. I had it towed to a Firestone, and they said the hub bearing gave putting the load on everything else ruining the axle, brakes, ball joint, and possibly the front differential. $2600 in damages. Will insurance cover any of this?

  1. No , this is what you call wear and tear. and no one insures for that. You were lucky that you didn't have an accident because your friend most likely is not covered for driving under your insurance.

  2. I never heard of an insurance company paying out for a road-hazard condition, but you can try...wtf..

  3. This Depends on what type of Policy your Friend has , full Coverage might I am not really sure the Question is well your Insurance cover him while driving your truck .

  4. As long as he has collision coverage on the vehicle it should be covered. He will have to pay his deductible and his insurance company will cover the rest. Rental coverage will cover most of the cost of a rental car while the vehicle is being repaired... and he should be reimbursed for the cost of the tow bill.

  5. Yes, this is covered under collision and if you have rental coverage, you are covered for a rental.  So as long as you have collision coverage, you are ok.  Of course, you do have to pay your deductible.

  6. Yes, it is covered under his collision coverage.  His deductible will apply.  He will be surcharged as well.
