Hit-and-Run?????

Hypothetically, if you witnessed a hit-and-run accident, what would you do about this?

Hypothetically?  I would report it to the police.  That can be a misdemeanor or a felony.

Turn your question around. If you were hit by a car that then took off, and someone witnessed the crime, what would you want them to do?

There should not be a dilemma here, you should do the right thing and make a police report when they respond to the accident, or later if you did not do it at the scene.

Nothing hypothetical about it.  I would call for an ambulance, and try to give aid to the injured.  Then I would tell the police what I saw.  If I had to go to court to tell my story, I would do it.  Who wouldn't do all of the above ?

You'd have to call it in as well as wait until the proper authorities show up and describe the scene to them.  It would be the same thing as if you were the victim in the hit-and-run yourself.
