Hitachi 50" MTS TV/Monitor

Question

TV would only turn on sometimes even with remote. The person i got it from use to hit it above the on off switch on the grey plastic frame and it would turn on only to shut it self off. The same thing happens every time it gets turned on. Now it doesnt turn on at all. Frustrated i still feel the tv will work. Please help
