Hi everyone!

I have the above mentioned HDTV hooked up to my DVD player with an HDMI cable and was wondering how I could still use the HDMI cable and still have the sound come through my receiver and speakers.

When using component cables this is simple but I get a much better picture with the HDMI.

Thanks for your help!

  1. It all depends on what type of audio receiver you have. On the back of your tv, you have 2 audio output options. One is the standard Phono(red and white) plugs or you have the Optical(fiber) cable. If your receiver has a optical input then this would be your best option for a surround sound system. You can use the phono plugs if you do not have a surround sound system. If you use the Phono plugs on a surround sound system then you will be limited to the 2.1 surround. GL.
