Hitler is evil, why would he do such a thing such as killing 6 million human beings?

I know hitler is terrible.

he was very evil, from what ive heard.

but why'd he do it?

does anyone really know?

First of all to get into the philosophies of it all HItler's acts were evil but it is impossible to say whether he was evil because he was clearly not all there in the head. To me evil means you knew better I think he was too messed up.

The best books on Hitler are by a man called Ian Kershaw. He is quite a few out your library is bound to have one of them.

Hitler believed that the Aryan race was the superior race, and that all other races should be destroyed, or become subjects to the Aryans. He wanted Germany to have (only) an Aryan population. So he systematically killed the Jews and other undesired people through laws which took away their rights, companies, homes, etc. and eventually moved on to killing them in the concentration camps.

BUT you should understand, that stopping Hitler from doing this was NOT the focus of WW2. After the German's lost WW1 the US its European allies screwed Germany over to get back at them for fighting. So given the conditions that the German people were left in after WW1, it's easy to see how a person like Hitler was easily accepted as a leader by the German people. I'm not going to give everything away, I'll leave the rest up for you to read and interpret yourself.

First, you need to read up on the causes and effects of WW1 and WW2.  Then read up on socio-economics, or how economics affect people's social and political interactions (I suggest reading books/articles by Karl Marx, Frederick Engels and other sociologists) . Next you should read some books on the economic and political climate (situation) of Germany around the time that Hitler came into power. You should also read up on Zionism a little bit.

Most of that stuff you'll probably have to google first before you can get into any actual books though. But either way, some of the stuff you may understand, some of it you might not; some of it you may agree with, some of it you might not.
