  1. dont do it to much

  2. Yes hitting against the wall is not the same as hitting against a human being. But there's nothing wrong with doing it every now. The wall actually helps you "tighten up" your technique because a wall is very predictable as it pretty much always gives you the same bounce, pace and height. But this also serves as a double-edged sword as playing the wall too much will make you get too comfortable with its predictability, then when you try to go back to hitting against people, you might be totally thrown off as people can be very unpredictable with the greater variety of spins, paces and heights they can produce on their shots. But like I said, doing it every now and then for like a week won't do any harm, it might even help. But always try to hit with people whenever possible. I used to hit against the wall every now and then, and I still managed to be the #1 player in my HS division.

  3. Do it if you want to have fun playing tennis and not professionally. Hitting agianst the wall is a workout and has to serve a purpose. You can play against the wall in the begining and then play on the court just see where the net is on the wall and visualize it. Try to aim at one target close then slowly move back etc. I did that and im on my third year of playing. I currently can serve constantly, hit powerful forehands , and slice amazingly good. Its a starting point. You though would have to be on the court with a person to become better because of different hits and movement.

  4. just as the person above me said... don't do it for too long at one time... it might start to mess up your strokes.... the only thing i think that the wall might do for you is help with your hand-eye coordination... and your reaction time

  5. concentrate on your correct strokes rather than just smashing the ball against the wall. USE the right technique or u will mess evrythin gup. (i already ruined my backhand)

  6. So wrong. I started playing what i thought was tennis using a kid handball. No racket, just hands. My sister and i would hit it back to each other. That skill helped me out a lot with my vision. Still as a kid when i moved to my new house it had a huge wall in the basement. I would practice down there and i still do for hours at a time. It helps a lot on your strokes. Dont worry about whether if you were on a real tennis court where the ball would end up. That will only throw you off. Just hit it back and forth and i promise you will see improvement.  The whole point is you can find a way to improve your game by doing little things. Whether its a wall or handball, almost everything can help.

  7. hitting against a wall is fine. if you do it in limited amounts. make sure you dont try and hit too hard... because walls have tendoncies to hit balls back to you that were going out lol

  8. I remember the best advice my coach gave me in high school. Its not practice makes perfect, its perfect practice makes perfect. Although you can create good hand eye coordination through hitting against a wall, your game will improve if you practice in real-game situations. Best of luck
