  1. $20-$40 a day is enough thailand is more expensive ,but in vn, cambodia , lao, $20 a day [ average] you can eat well and get good lodgings. with $40 you can take the plane when and where its available.... ive stayed for 2 months on $2000 many times.

  2. I'm advising you to go to the Philippines instead of vietnam, cambodia and thailand. The Philippines is the best country for value of money.

  3. Thats what im about to do (apart from Thailand)! With $2000 you should be fine - but more would always be good :)

Accomodation in half decent places will set you back anywhere from $5 - $10 USD in Cambodia (assuming your going to be staying in Phnom Penn and Siem Reap?). If you want to look around Angkor Wat it will set you back about $20 for a 3 day pass. Food is incrediably cheap as well. A bus from Phnom Penn to Siem Reap will cost you around $8 - $10 (USD).

Im starting off in Ho Chi Mihn (accomodation for me and my GF is $17 per night)and catching a bus from Ho Chi Mihn to Phnom Penn for $20...

So overall, Vietnam/Cambodia should be fine - Thailand? Sorry not to sure..

  4. You should be ok,but please don't carry all that cash, they have ATM machines everywhere.
