  1. generally I tell people that I charge 7-8 dollars an hour but I let them know that I don't really care how much they want to give me. However, most people that I babysit for tend to pay about 10 dollars per hour without me even bringing it up. I have even had cases where I got 50 dollars for less than three hours where the kid went to sleep, effortlessly, about a half an hour after his parents left. It all depends on the people, but normally I would say that 5 dollars is definitely on the lower end of the scale

  2. so that is a little less than 5 dollars an hour. not great, but it isn't freakishly low. you could complain to the parents but i cant promise you that you'll get a job from them again.

  3. no thats five bucks a hour      thats what i chrge pepole that i babysit say im a good price and want me to babysit also im good at it acept usally they bump it up to like a extra hour if the go half a hour more then they expect or more but no hats perfect actully

  4. usually its 5 dollars an hour

thats how much i charge for a kid

  5. that's not enough!

    $50+

I remembered babysitting someone for 4 days and I got $100

    I usually get $50 above

  6. I charge $2 an hour per child so for me that would have been $18, so I think that is about right a fair price for babysitting.

  7. I don't think that's very much.  That's less than $5 per hour.  I would expect you would make at least $7 per hour, which would be $42.

  8. How old are you, and what kind of experience do you have? If you're under 15 or so and don't know CPR, etc. that is good. It's about $5 per hour (typical tween/teen babysitting wages)

  9. Thats good its according to what all you have to do

    meals,driving etc.

  10. yeah if she's bad charge $10 a hour,if she's good charge $5 a hour,ching-ching

  11. It really depends. If you think that you deserved more, talk to the person that you baby sat for. Let them know that you didnt think that $30 was enough for 6 hours. Im assuming that you fed the girl right? Which required you to do more than just keep an eye out on her and play with her. it basically boils down to just under $5 an hour. I babysit a little boy that is my daughters age (almost....he will be 5 in August, my daughter is already 5). I am very close friends with the mother, her husband used to work my dad as well. She gives me about $20. I usually watch him from 5-11 and sometimes longer. But after 9, he's in bed. Also, since my daughter is there, i really dont have to do much to occupy him. I feed him, bathe him, dress him, and put him to bed. But i also have free reign of the house. I can do whatever i pretty much want to- go online, watch TV and even eat out the whole house if i want to!

It all depends on what your level of friendship, or what your relationship, is to the parent(s). As i said, if you dont think that $30 was enough, maybe say something the next time you are asked to babysit. Something like, "I want to thank you again for paying me last time i babysat, but i was wondering if you dont mind paying me a little more? Minimum wage is $---- per hour and i was hoping to get closer to that." (Minimum wage in NY is $7.15/hour so that would mean $7x6hrs- $42) If they arent willing to pay you more, maybe its because they think that you didnt do what you were supossed to. Or maybe they just think that you shouldnt get that much for babysitting. If you are really wanting more money, and they really dont want to give it to you, tell them that you are sorry but this will be the last time babysitting for them.

    I hope i helped!

  12. It should be at least the minimum wage.

If it isn't your family thats only fair.

  13. I think thats a pretty good amount for babysitting.  I use to have a daycare and parents paid $20.00 per day.  I provided them with meals and activities.  Some parents can't afford much more than that.
