I'm 13 right now and I was thinking about coloring it dark purple and white...:]

1)but I have some furniture that's made out of wood, so it's brown...

should I color it to match the rest of the room?

2}also I have a corner with black stuff, example:

computer

table(computer is ON it)

chair

will that be ok?

3)oh and the carpet is a light mocha color...would that match the colors I want?(white and purple)

thanks...BUNCHES! :)

  1. Is the Hello Kitty at the top of the wall a border?  If so, borders are relatively easy to remove.  Many stores (WalMart, Target, Home Depot, etc.) carry a product called DIF.  Follow the directions on the container.

Don't paint your furniture, at least not in the beginning.  Get the room painted the way you want it then give it a second look.  Insofar as the computer table, let that be, as well.

Overall, don't be concerned with "matching" everything.  Look through pics online of various kinds of bedrooms.  You'll find that most of them show real wood furniture with walls painted 'whatever' color.

The trick with getting your favorite color in the room may not be in the paint on the walls, though.  I always start with an inspiration piece.  For example, you might cruise Target, Penney's, WalMart, or a home goods store and look at throw pillows, bedding, scarves, fabrics, and clothes.  Find something (anything) that has colors in it that you LOVE.  Use that as the color scheme for your room.

Example: you go to WalMart one day and come upon a throw pillow that's a light green with purple and yellow accents in it.  Translate that into your room decor by painting the walls the green or yellow then accenting (throw pillows, curtains, lamp shades, area rug) with the purple.  You'll appreciate the purple more in that fashion, and you won't grow as tired of it as quickly.

When your tastes change, the purple accents are cost-effectively replaced by another color or colors.

  2. Go for the purple and white.  A room color is fairly safe to be daring about.  If you think it may be too dark all dark purple, you can do one or some of the walls purple, the others white.   One idea is to leave the black furniture against a white wall or two, and add purple accessories (like a big purple flower) and have other walls purple.

A light mocha would be beautiful with purple and white.  And the wood furniture might even pull it all together as wood is brownish.  Do the walls first, then try the furniture.  If the wood seems too dark, perhaps you could paint it white.  If the wood is not fine wood I would do that.  White furniture against purple walls would look really pretty.  Do not have more than two colors of furniture. some black, and some wood or white.  All white might be pretty too. can you paint the black table and chair that is with the computer?

I would follow your dream.  Good luck to you.   Wish I could know what you decide.

  3. use purple{light} or any color that coincides with it and thats a good malasian style..

  4.   A dark colour like purple will make your room look smaller , and with the blackcomputer  table and  brown furniture it will be too dark

How about a light cream colour for the walls, you can leave the wood furniture but maybe paint the black computer table a cream as well and use the deep purple for accessories, like bedspread, and a lilac colour for the drapes with  throw pillows for your bed in yellow, lilac and a print with purple, lilac and cream or yellow in it.

Hope i gave you some ideas.

  5. Sounds like good matches to me (=

But it's up to you, your the one that's going to be living in it!
