Hmmm!! Why does this happen in here??

Why is there such anomosity and hatred among different sects within Islam?

I understand the differences but what i don't understand is the brutal language and disrespect that is exhibited by some professed Muslims towards others.

I reverted to Islam a few months ago, alhamdulillah and i have been studying it quite intensely (and i have a lifetime to go), but from what i have learned respect, tolerance and patience to others is what is expected from Muslims towards people who do not know or understand certain things within Islam.

I am learning new things everyday, and i think now i would be a little apprehensive in asking a question here because i would be slaughtered by some of the responses.

There are really nice people here, alhamdulillah, but then there are others who are really disrespectful in answering questions.

I understand that some questions asked are insulting, but is not then that Muslims should show the true face of Islam, by answering respectfully, giving knowledge of Islam.

I don't know am just asking: why so much hatred towards people, regardless of what sect they belong to. E.g. 1qfactor---he gets a huge hard time by most people, yet his answers are always respectful. I don't know much about ahmaddi (spelling?), but am sure as a human being he deserves respect when he gives respect?

Thoughts?

  1. Jazakallah for bringing up this point sister.  I think its due to insecurities of ones own faith, that people feel the need to spread lies about others.

I respect brother "acetokin", but what he's written about Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) is a classic example of someone who would rather lash out and spread lies than simply agree to respectfully disagree.  Allah bless him for being a Muslim and guide his heart always.

Anyway, I think that those who discriminate should look at the example of the Prophet (sa).  Never did he compel, nor insult, nor discriminate.  Indeed, in Muhammad (sa) is an excellent exampler.

Again, jazakallah for bringing this up, may Allah bless your pure heart.

And if you wanted an easy but brief intro to Ahmadi Muslims, search "Revival of Faith" on YouTube.  It will answer your questions insha'allah.  Feel free to email me as well.

love for all, hatred for none

  2. The reason is that most of the people here are not educated in Islaam. And they do not understand the Methodology of Ahlus Sunnah in refuting the deviant groups and in dealing with them. So you find many act without wisdom and they'll curse and post questions of no benefit. This kind of behavior is a terrible behavior that was spoken against by those who preceded us in righteousness.

The problem is that most people are acting without understanding and without wisdom.

But this does not mean that we leave the deviant sects to be, rather it is from the principles of Ahlus Sunnah that we warn from them and we do not mix with them and unite with them. The problem you see is that people are not utilizing the proper methodology implemented by Ahlus Sunnah.

Ibn Taymiyyah also recorded in his Majmoo' al-Fataawa about Imaam Ahmad that it was said to him:

إنه يثقل على أن أقول فلان كذا، وفلان كذا‏.‏ فقال‏:‏ إذا سكت أنت وسكت أنا، فمتى يعرف الجاهل الصحيح من السقيم

((I do not feel right about saying so-and-so is like this and so-and-so is like this. So (Imaam Ahmad) he said: If you remain silent, and if I remain silent then how will the ignorant person know the authentic from the defective?))

The Imaam Aboo ‘Abdillaah Muhammad bin ‘Abdillaah who is well known as Ibn Abee Zamaneen and is one of the top four most well-known scholars of the Madhhab of Imaam Maalik said:

ولم يـزل أهل السنة يعيبون أهل الأهواء المضلة، وينهون عـن مجالستهم، ويخوفون فتنتهم، ويخبرون بخلاقهم، ولا يرون ذلك غيبـة لـهم، ولا طعناً عليهم.

((And Ahlus Sunnah never cease to expose the people of desires, the deviants. And they prohibit sitting with them, and fear their trials and narrate in opposition to them, and this is not seen as backbiting them, nor insulting them.)) (Reported in Usool as-Sunnah on page 293)

When al-Akhnas bin Shurayque ath-Thaqafee used to abuse the Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم), Allaah said concerning him with the following attributes:

((And do not obey every person who swears much, a worthless person - A slanderer, going about with gossip- Hinderer of the good, transgressor, sinful – Cruel, and moreover illegitimate)) (Soorah al-Qalam: 10 – 13)

So what about those who insult Allaah by lying upon him and claiming that Allaah makes mistakes (such as the Rawaafidh Shee'ah, see al-Kaafi of al-Kulaynee in his section on "Bada'") or the ones who lie upon the Messenger of Allaah salallaahu alaihi wa salam and ascribe to him lies? (Such as most of the deviant sects) or the ones who curse the Sahaabah and the mothers of the believers like the Rawaafidh Shee'ah do?

Imaam Ibn Waddaah al-Qurtubee mentioned on page 2 of his al-Bid’ wan-Nahiyy ‘Anhaa that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

يحمل هذا العلم من كل خلف عدوله ينفون عنه تحريف الغالين وانتحال المبطلين وتأويل الجاهلين

((This knowledge will be carried by the trustworthy ones in every time, they purge from it the distortions of the distortions of the extremists and the interpretations of those who see to make the Book of Allaah false and the interpretations of the ignorant))

There's more to say on this topic but not enough space to write it.

  3. i think it's a sign of the day of judgement, muslims bicker with muslims but allah knows best =]

  4. I Agree .

But if u have noticed something lately.

Every one is uniting against that "Saudi Hotgirl"

  5. Al-Hadith: "The believer is for another believer like a building some of which strengthens the others. (Then he interlaced his fingers.)"

Qur'an (S.3 V.103) "Hold fast all of you together to the cable of ALLAH(SWT), and do not split up; and remember the favour of ALLAH(SWT) upon you when you were enemies (unto each other) and He joined your heart in love so that you became (like) brethren by His Grace."

Difference of opinions there will always be, but as Muslim's lets discard all predudices and arrogant attitudes...

Be tolerant towards one another, Muslim's have an important duty in this regard and should co-operate...

Irrespective of different Muslim organisation, in a spirit of mutual understanding, sincerity of purpose and firm determination!

Questions from non-Muslim's, requires a balanced approach in answering, abstain from statements in which there is no Deeni benefit!

There will always be certain hostile and ignorant individual bent on destruction of Islamic values, remain undisturbed and deliberately ignore them!

Hadhrat Ali(RA) said that one should speak to people what they are able to understand - Do not discuss with them things which are beyond their intellectual capacities!

  6. That's because many Muslims, such as Sunni Muslims feel they are "right" and other sects and denominations are wrong. I am not trying to fuel hate but just look at some of the answers posted and you will see Sunni's and OICs bashing other Muslims.

  7. As Salaam wa alaikum

I agree with you and umuda. Just something I noticed.

There is no priesthood in Islam. The Prophet (SAW) did not go to an uloom and his companions did not either. Most of the conflicts today emanate from ulooms and so called alims who issue fathwas against each other. Most of the time it is about issues that are minor. We all believe in the same kalima, we all perform the same five pillars etc. Our differences only come about with issues that have come about after the passing away of the Prophet (SAW).

The Prophet (SAW) did not like disputes. It is counter productive and a waste of time and energy - resources we could put to better use like teaching what we think is right positively.

May Allah Guide on the seeratul mustikim.

  8. no one ummah, bcuz shias prayto Ali R.A.

f Ali R.A. were here now, he would kill them for God.

good intention cutey, but do some research first and u will no y there is animosity.

P.S. Ahmaddiyas are all g*y, its what Miza Ghulam admitted to being, so they must all follow.

  9. They started it. If only they joined my sect they wouldn't be of the 72 sects that go to h**l.

  10. STOP RE-READ UR QUESTION. ISLAM CONTAINS NO HATE ONLY PEOPLE DO!

PEOPLE OF ALL RELIGIONS, CULTURES AND RACES. JUST BECAUSE THERE IS A FOOLISH WAVE OF "HEY PICK ON A MUSLIM IT'S "A" OK, YOU FEEL CONFIDENT IN ASKING SUCH A NON-LOGICAL QUESTION.

  11. I went through this phase also as a new Muslim back in the day.  It was really tough to see Muslims (who I thought were supposed to know better because they were born Muslims) acting so badly.  Eventually I came to the conclusion that Islam is perfect, but the application of it by Muslims is far from perfect.  If you have noticed, most of the animosity here revolves around two main subjects: nationality and the sunni/shia issue.  For me personally I stay out of both because I find them counterproductive and honestly quite stupid.  As a new Muslim you will have many questions.  My only advice is to block the chronic abusers so they cannot answer your questions.  But go ahead and ask and inshallah you will get the decent users here (and there are several) to answer you.

  12. check my last Q ,i asked " why do shias love me?"

the shiite answers where bashing and have no thing to do with my Q

@ Muawiya,my Q was not bashing any shia, but u turned it so

  13. we all creature of allah, and thus due respect is needed, the prophet peace be upon him himself deal with non muslim, many by just seeing him accepted one allah. indeed we have much effort to do

  14. Yes I agree with you,I would have to say this is the one section of yahoo answers(religion) where there is most disagreement and often discrimination. Having said that it isn't just the muslims, but also members of other religions that participate in this attitude and vulgarity.

It wouldn't hurt anyone to be at peace with one another or to be nice to each other, but unfortunately thats how it is.

Having said that, there are also those on Y!A who are seeking knowledge and are answering/asking in a respectful manner. It is the opinion and thoughts of those who I admire, and the reason why I take part in this section.

Islam, and its truth should be spread in a peaceful way.And Allah knows best.regarde'
