Hmmmmmmm....Sleeping?

Is sleeping essential, does it make you operate better? Can you function to your full potential without it? How are you if your deprived of it.

  1. you need sleep or at least lie down rest  I dont sleep too good lately I got up about 20 mins ago after trying to nod off for 3 hours in the uk and time is now 6 mins past 3


  2. well there was a time about 3 months ago. me and my fiance were getting kicked out of our apt. and we had 6 days to leave. I was very stressed trying to pack up all our stuff and arrange for a new place. I was so busy the last 4 days that I didnt sleep except the night before we left for about 2 hours. The day of the move I was trying to move stuff and I was completely weak my fiance had a small duffel bag full of cds and games and it was too heavy for me to even lift. I really couldnt think clearly at all --you know how you get that feeling every once in awhile like what did I just come in this room for , and then its like oh yeah i wanted to get my blah blah blah. but without 4 days sleep I was completely lost thats the best way to explain it. the day we left i stayed in a hotel and I was cooking one of those microwave cups of noodles it probably took me 5 minutes to get it in the microwave and read how long your supposed to cook it for-i know crazy right..and then i took it out waited for it to cool and started eating my fiance was laughing at me and I had know idea why then he said babe! you didnt even put the seasoning in..i was so out of it i didnt even notice! so getting sleep definately does make you operate better

  3. try  seeing how long u can go with out it i went 48 hours with out it and then had to sleep for a full day  

  4. Sleeping is essential, the body regenerates cells during sleep. Going for long periods of time can start to do stuff to the body like your immune system is weakened, concentration and judgement are seriously affected and you may start to hallucinate. Personally I used to be able to stay up for days (78 hours) without feeling the effects (apart from mild fuzzy brain), but not anymore, as you get older you definetly need your 8 hours a night

It is all a mind set, ex-military if a job must be done than it gets done, and feelings and emotions be damned, if your manic not sleeping and having fun your happy, if your deppressed and not sleeping,......your depressed your not sleeping.  It is essential in the fact that you will die if you don't do it for a certain amount of time, but ultimately who knows how much sleep we really need.  It's like someone complaining about their feet hurting, and then yours hurt we hear alot from society and subconsciously mimick it.  h**l if they can still use ECT on people than its clear their is a division between health and science still remaining.  Your question is impossible to answer.  Everyone is right and everyone is wrong.
