  2. go to microsoftpictures or imagechef.com  ..it will help you crop your pics and easy to use.

  3. You cannot always crop a picture.

I have tried to crop news photos only to lose the picture, but I could copy-and-paste the entire picture into my electronic message!  Such cases is where the picture is protected by a copyright code.

It depends on what kind of a picture you have and where it is located.  Using my Microshit XP 2000 Word-imperfect, I have clicked on the picture to be changed and the toolboard opens a new red-highlighted category titled Picture Tools, or on older versions, just click Format on the tool board.  At the right you will see "Crop" under an icon of a picture.

Now, sometimes I go to all of the trouble of cropping a picture only to find that I cannot transfer it (copy-paste) to my website or list-serve.  That is a fault with MS for trying to prevent us from using copyrighted material!

Maybe someone with more knowledge can advise you on how to do more than I know how to do.

    Good luck.
