  1. Sometimes this happens to me too. But I don't sit down one day and tell myself I'm gonna practice for two hours, because it won't happen. I'll be forcing myself to do something and in turn it won't go as planned. I have to be really involved in it and not even think about the time.

You can't force yourself to sit down and practice for two hours. It'll make matters worse.

But start off with warming up (which is essential), then move on to whatever you have to work on. If there's a song you want to try learning by ear, try it! If you have to stop at 30 minutes because you're bored, fine. As long as you manage your practice time well and get the most out of that 30 minutes then that's all you can ask for.

  2. find yourself a  good song and  practice  on  that

  3. Learn a WHOLE song, then after you do look up the GUITAR BACKING TRACK for that song and play along with it. I usually learn about 1/4s of the song a day, take it slow or you might forget it. Playing along with a guitar back track rocks.

  4. YOU ARE NOT ORGANIZED ENOUGH!  First, you should not play at all but practice rhythm problems or technique (10 minutes).  Then play exercises for individual finger picking (10 minutes).  Then review chord positions for the right hand (10 minutes).  Whew. You're already tired but keeping going. Now take out the old song book and 30 minutes will fly by.  To stretch it save your favorite pieces for last or have a friend join you for a sing along.  The end.
