I cut down a large tree in my yard and sanded the trunk down below the ground. The tree has since sent up thousands of small trees from its' roots. I have tried roundup and pulling them up but they keep coming back. HELP!

  1. Drill holes deep into the stump and fill with burnt oil or diesel fuel for a week or so until it saturates deep then set fire to it. As long as the base is intact underground the roots will continue to grow the shoots that you are seeing. You could also rent a backhoe and just dig it up if you can't find someone with a sump grinder.

  2. Continue using the roundup, eventually the root system will begin to rot. Or, hire someone who does stump grinding.

  3. They say to drill some holes in it, as deep as you can and fill it with salt.

  4. cut off the little seedlings and apply roundup  straight to the cut parts.  repeat every couple of weeks as shoots re-appear, eventually they won't.

  5. The best way is to get a hog. Fence 10ft around the stump and put cracked corn on the stump. The pig will eat the corn, the stump and all your suckers.
