  1. You live in a single story home or your room is upstairs you can install a new outlet by tapping into the nearest outlet.  Easy as One, Two, Three.  Purchase two cut in boxes (Remodel boxes) at your local hardware store and 50' of 12/2 wire  (yellow) in color, remove cover plate where tapping into, remove outlet and existing box from wall (completely), run new wire down wall and where you want to install new outlet! install boxes, receptacles and new cover plates, your good to go!

Anything else i can assist with?

  2. Just go to your local hardware store.  They have an adapter you can buy that screws into your light socket.  You s***w your bulb in the bottom of it (in other words this fits between your exisisting light socket and your light bulb) and has a plug recepticle in it.  Very handy, very safe and very cheap. Costs about $2-$3.  You should put a hook or a nail in your ceiling to make sure the cord stays away from the bulb.

  3. Is this like totally OK??

Run an extension cord from your parents room, down the hall, and into your room. Walla!! Bet he'll put one in now. Like Dude, get some exercise.

  4. you should've had outlets in the room as for borough codes. They shouldn't have been able to sell the house with the room listed as a bedroom with no outlets! The only thing to do is to call an electrician and have them pull a dedicated circuit to that room with outlets at least every 7ft with a light switch. Estimated at $400-$600 depending on how far your room is from the panel. Good luck

  5. A very easy way to add an outlet is to look in adjacent rooms.  If you keep between the same two wall studs you can run a 14-3 wire from the first one into the new one.  You can get boxes that self anchor in the wall by cutting the right size hole and tightening the screws.  It is very unusual that a room wouldn't have any outlets.  You might even be able to run one down from the light switch if the hot wire goes to the switch.

  6. Uhhh,,, buy a battery powered TV.Since you didn't think of that I really think you would be better served by spending more time in the library OHH...... you mean cable outlet/Just run your own down the edge of the carpet(hidden) and put a splitter in.or go to rabbit ears.

  7. Its not that difficult to put a plug from one room into another.

Its just finding a plug in the other room measuring the distance and find the wall opening between the studs next to it. Install

an existing work receptacle box and a three prong plug, double receptacle plug and a cover. Match the wire colors to the

plug receptacle in the other room and voila you got power.

Seems to me your Dad doesn't want to mess with putting it

in maybe hes one of those I can't fix it types. have him call

an electrician.  Or use an extension cord from a plug somewhere else.  make sure it is rated for 12-3 power.

  8. We Had The Same Problem, Maybe Try Splitting the nearest TV to your Room, By Buying a TV Splitter @ Walmart Or Some where They carry TVs & Cables etc. Make Sure you Buy An Extra Cable thats long enough to Reach all the way to your room Where you want your TV. Make sure that the Cable has some play room. (enough Cable to run behind things.) You dont want to have to trip over it.

    So Shopping List:TV Spliter & Cable. ;)

    Good Luck Girl!
