Hobb’s Dream to embrace victory at the Bathwick Tyres Bridgwater Handicap Hurdle
Taunton is hosting the Bathwick Tyres Bridgwater Handicap Hurdle today, 21st February, 2012. 13 runners will be competing across a distance of 3 miles and 110 yards for a purse worth £2,395.
The line-up consists of:
Not So Prudent,
Changing Lanes,
Cannon Fire,
Hobb’s Dream,
Munlochy Bay,
Just Tootsie,
Kowloon,
Gentleman Jimmy,
Makin A Fuss,
Western Whisky,
Cosway Spirit,
Quix, and
Velator.
Changing Lanes, son of Overbury, out of Snowdon Lily, has competed in two races since the year began.
On 11th January, 2012, he could not complete the race as he pulled up after 8th, in the Three Cliffs Handicap Hurdle, at Ffos Las.
Trained by David Rees, the 9-year-old gelding showed remarkable improvement. He secured a victory in the Free Trial At Betangel.com Handicap Hurdle, held at Southwell, on 15th February, 2012.
Hobb’s Dream is in good form and began the year with success. Her trainer, Neil Mulholland, was proud of her performance.
The 8-year-old daughter of Winged Love, out of La-Greine, finished first by defeating Gentleman Jimmy, in the Alpha Company 40 Commando Royal Marines Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle, on 31st January, 2012, at Taunton.
Gentleman Jimmy is competing against Hobb’s Dream for the second time this year. His trainer, Hughie Morrison, is hoping that the 12-year-old will perform better in this race and aim for a finish in first place.
Kowloon, owned by Malcolm C. Denmark, finished 4th in his last race, in the Docker Hughes Memorial Novices’ Handicap Hurdle, at Fontwell, on 12th January, 2012.
His trainer, Warren Greatrex, is hoping that the 6-year-old will compete with all his might against the other competitors, who are older in age.
Munlochy Bay, the daughter of Karinga Bay, out of Meghdoot, is collecting bets. The 8-year-old has not secured a placed position in the last two years.
In her last race at Ludlow, in the Fred’s 75th Anniversary Handicap Hurdle, on 19th January, 2012, she could not finish as she fell while leading in 3rd position .
Makin A Fuss, Western Whisky, Cosway Spirit, Quix, and Velator have all failed to secure placed positions in their last races. This might not change as they are facing some
tough competition in this race.
The prediction is that Hobb’s Dream is likely to secure a victory, while
Changing Lanes may prove to be hindrance in her path.
Gentleman Jimmy is also popular in the market. There is a possibility that he might finish in second or third place, depending on his luck.
Munlochy Bay, despite her average performance, is of significant interest to the bookies and they are collecting large bets for her.
