  1. How about cross-stitching?

It's not that difficult and you can frame your finished pieces for your children's room!

It's really relaxing aswell, and gives you some much deserved 'me time'.

There is such a wide variety of designs, there's something for everyone's taste and ability.

  2. I'm a stay at home mum and i quite enjoy sewing. I don't make anything fancy - mostly comforters and blankets for my baby boy.

  3. Well, if your a stay at home mum then I would consider knitting or baking

  4. Hmm... Scrapbooking, writing, painting, photography, knitting/sewing, reading, college degree/web study, cooking/baking, yoga, gardening, candle making, candy making, and pottery, just to name a few...

    Cheers!

  5. Do university courses while your staying at home why not educate yourself so when u can go back to work you could get a better job, thats what i am doing

  6. how about presamped, prequiled, cross stitch baby or lap quilts. This is what I do, & I love them.

However when you go to buy them get them off of ebay, its so much cheaper, then teh local craft stores, like Hobby Lobby, Micheals, or JoAnns fabric.

I pay between $9.99-15.00 for them verse $25-45.00 at the craft stores.

If you want to start with something smaller, try a baby bib. Also alot of the kits now come with the floss, if not the floss is pretty cheap at the craft stores, but heres a word of advice, DONT use the name brand floss by Janlynn, the floss when washed "will" bleed on your pattern once you have to wash it! Stay with the name brand floss called DMC, J&P coats, or Anchor, I know for a fact those brands wont bleed.

Also the name brands of the cross stitch kits are under these names "Bucilla", "Janlynn" (they do have good kits, just stay clear of the floss that comes with it), "Baby Hugs", "Dimensions", "Sunset", "Wondersrt".

Another place you can look up is called Craigslist.com, or www.powersellersunite.com

Hope this all helps you out. Good luck with what you chose & have fun, is the main thing.

  7. If you have a digital box to receive freeview channels on your TV, then find the corresponding channel for Ideal homes, on my TV it is 22 but could be different on yours depending how the channels are tuned in. There are programmes every now and again to do with crafting and making cards, boxes etc... Give it a try

  8. What about quilting.  I love to quilt, you can use a machine or can do it be hand and can take it with you when you waiting places, like the doctors.  Check out http://www.appliquequiltdesigns.com, it covers traditional quilt blocks, baby quilts, applique and reviews of quilt books.  I starting quilting 15 years ago and haven't been able to stop.

  9. Something that decorates your home, such as gardening, making pillows  or stenciling the walls is a good  idea. You can stretch your budget by learning to sew or bake. Many people have loved exploring genealogy or crime solving on the Internet or through books.

  10. GO to a craft store or a hobby store and look around and see what you can find I am sure something will jump out at you. Try a few things and see what you like and you might find something that might make you a good extra income.

    good luck

  11. How about scrap booking.  If you are a mom, you are bound to have pictures of your babies and there is no right or wrong way to do it.  Just place your pictures, add comments and voila'

  12. As a stay at home mum you will have your work cut out as it is....but if you can find time for yourself what about knitting or crochet which is also therapeutic. Even something like embroidery or applique. These crafty hobbies will also be very useful for making bits and pieces when you have children. Good luck x

  13. if u ever fancy going back to work, u can do lots of free online courses, just type in the search bar free online courses. that way u will have something to do, be closer to achieving nationally recognised qualifications, and learn new skills all at the same time. all u need is a computer, andaspare hour or so here and there. i have done quite a few and it has broadened my skills plus keeps the boredom at bay. they are also very flexible so u dont need to meet deadlines or worry about finishing it.

if u dont fancy that, pop down to ur local arts and crafts shop, and buy supplies u will need to; make ur own candles, make costume jewellery for the kids fancy dress parties, make ornaments, paint onto canvass to make greatart work for the house. theres lots u will find at the shop, just go for a browse and see wot u fancy. i hope tis helps a little, and hope u find something u will enjoy doing. (hey get good enough at something, and make a business out of it) u never know ur talents til u givedifferent thingsa try! give it a go, and good luck in wotever u decide to do

    tam x
