  1. yea thanks for F'ing up hockey  and THANKS FOR HELPING HOCKEY LEAVE ESPN DAMNIT

tonights game is gonna be tigh, i hope it goes to 7

  2. to quote the Joel Quinville commercial: Ms. Bettman i mean Mr. Bettman , it is time for a line change but, here is the catch it involves you and only you

  3. Bettman is not a hockey man.  He is a lawyer and businessman looking for the best finacially for the league.  While he may be out of touch with the fans, it is the owners who refuse to oust him.  Like him or not, other share the blame/praise of any work in his era.

    Wings end it tonight.

  4. djup beat me to it.

  5. Bettman,

Look what you did you big JERK!!!

    thanks for ruining the game

  6. OK. Here is what I would ask Bettman. Keeping it the clean question. "Why do you feel the need to tweak things that are working and have been working just fine?"

As for the wings game. It will be a toughie. It should be a good one. Juts I have a game myself tonight so I will not be able to watch most of it. :(

  7. Words to Bettman: "Your flys un-done"..."Made you look, you f*cking jackass!!!"

    I'm quite nervous as well.

  8. to g*y bettman:

"hey, f****t! here's a gun, a pen, and some paper. make sure u spell my name right. i'll show yall how the nhl is supposed to be run."

  9. what he said

  10. I'd ask him to shorten the season. We can't be playing hockey in June!

I'm optimistic about tonight's game. The Wings are a successful playoff team on the road. They closed out both Nashville and Colorado on the road. No need to fear!

(Although, panic will set in if they lose. Only two teams have come back to win a series after being down 3 games to none. And one of those times Detroit was on the losing end!)

  11. I would post it, but I am afraid I would be suspended

About tonights game, I am not worried. The Wings got the wake up call they needed, just like in Round 1 against Nashville.

"Sometimes it's just like when you're playing your little brother in basketball," Hart said. "You let him get a lead and let him get excited, but then you take it back from him." - U of M running back, Mike Hart

  12. bring back Winnipeg

  13. Do I have to just say one thing??  It would have to be quite a long 'one thing', and would be on the lines of: 'Quit messing with the game - we want hockey, not a circus, and for goodness sake make sure hockey stays CLEAN'.  Dangit, that's two things.

Yep, I am very nervous about tonight's game.  I'd be excited in any event, but this seems extra poignant, and I got up this morning and dressed from the skin out like a stoplight.  God forbid I get run over - the paramedics won't be able to see the blood!

That said, I always wanted the Stars to be good - just not quite good enough to beat us.  If they weren't playing against the Wings, I'd be rooting for them, so here's to a great game, with a fine win for Detroit in the end, no daft calls either way  (are you listening Bettman?), and here's hoping the Stars' spectators treat them right.

  14. I am a LITTLE nervous just because I remember what the Wings have done in the past, BUT  I really think they will come out on top this year! GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Why no hockey on ESPN and hockey instead on Versus

  16. I'd ask to see the financial books on the state of the NHL.

Then i can see how well Bettman is really doing his job.

I think the Wings will take care of business tonight and i'm a fan of neither.

  17. Andrew hit the nail on the head, while we might not like him the owners who really make this all possible aren't looking at dumping him and they certainly share the blame for whats happened in recent years.

While I can't say it's just like a game 7 I do feel a little pucker factor going on.  But I am confident that the boys will resume their dominant play.

  18. Nah, I don't want to get reported.

  19. Youre fired!

Not a wings fan,but i dont think wings fans should be too worried.I still think its too little-too late for Dallas.I just wanna see a good game though-not a 6-0 blowout (sorry Philly fans)

  20. Mr. Bettman,

On behalf of all Penguins bandwagon fans, and by extension, all true hockey fans that endure their pointless nonsense, please make it illegal for teams to tank the season to gain entry into the lottery, fixing the lottery, and stop making it easy for financially strapped teams to win the Cup.

    D.I.S.

  21. LITY has taught me that Bettman is nothing but a pawn in the owner's hands. But still, he oversaw two work stoppages, that's unacceptable. I'd say "please resign Mr. Bettman, we need a change in the front office".

btw, I am lmfao @ djup6, Mike Hart never won anything of significance! LMAO! I'm not saying the Wings will also lose (I'm positive the series is theirs), but that's not a quote I would bring up if my team was in that situation. That's like bringing up one of John Ferguson Jr's (former Leafs GM) quotes about winning, lmao.

  22. resign!

  23. It feels like game 7.  I d**n near had a panic attack Saturday.

    Dear Mr. Bettman,

Frell you and your stupid $10k rule against octopus twirling.  Go back to basketball and ruin their sport.  What next?  A fine if fans enjoy themselves?

    Kisses,

    Mrs. B.

  24. i would say.....

(laugh) hahaha..... I could beat you up

As far as the game.. i'm not a huge fan, but i am rooting for them to win. So i'm excited!

  25. 1. what is your Social Security Number (or equivalent)?

    2. nope. the pressure is still on dallas. don't believe the magician's act.

(no, it doesn't feel like a game 7. and it doesn't for the players either. that's why they're playing, and we're not. btw, i remember a certain game 7 against the Avs, ON THE ROAD, and we did fine. cue the 7-0 score, and the phantom Statue of Liberty save by Patrick Waaaaah (read like a baby crying. hint.))

add - Andrew V has got it right about Bettman. It's up to the owners. they must like him enough.

also, anyone who predicted a sweep is an idiot. You had to figure that would be AT LEAST one game like Game 5, and you have to factor in the calls. Look at Ozzie's quote ... that sums it up ...

"If you told us we'd be up 3-2 going back to Dallas before we started playing, we'd probably take it"

  26. Hi Mr. Bettman it's a pleasure to meet you....now kiss my ***!!

  27. 1. To quote Matthew Millen, "Where are your testicles?"

    2. Nope, because I know they will win tonight.  I guarantee it.  If this were a Game 7, I'd be nervous.

    Amy B: Frell?

  28. I would have a lot to say, like why are non hockey people getting to have anything to do with the hockey world.

I am a little nervous, but I have faith in Chelios, I mean the wings!  I think they will be just fine!

  29. I am really upset about the new jerseys. Though I understand why the NHL now uses them and most look awesome, but the material is terrible. I bought an old CCM jersey in 2000 and have used it in Ice, Street, and roller hockey as a goaltender, and (though it is stained) the jersey is still in good shape. I have had the new Flyers Home RBK Edge jersey for only this season and it is already falling apart and its base price tag of $115 is  more expensive then the previous jerseys that had a base price of $75-85. When you get a jersey with a players name on the back, you will find that that names on the replica jerseys are made of really cheap screen printed plastic that has stitching screen printed only to LOOK like the real thing, but it fails at that also. I understand that these are only replica jerseys but they cost $150 and that is the same regardless of what name goes on the jersey."; it use to be that a personalized jersey would be more expensive then a regular players jersey, but now EVERY name on the jersey will cost a customization price whether that name be "SUPERFAN #99" or "GAGNE #12." Though these may be small complaints, I still think that (in a time where ticket prices have continued to rise despite a large increase in league revenue) the NHL should have more consideration for the fans who CAN'T afford an authentic jersey for over $220 dollars and tickets at $89.

  30. Its kind of like sign language...but it only involves one finger...
