Hockey Goalie Catcher/Blocker?

Question

I was wondering, everytime I play I usually have my blocker on my right hand and catcher on left hand, my right hand is my dominant hand and my left is starting to become a semi dominant. I was wondering if i was to wear a blocker on my left hand and a catcher on my right hand would i have faster reaction times with my catcher seeing as my right hand is my dominant

First of all, it is called a catcher sometimes and I dont know. ive never tried it but it is much easier to handle the stick with your dominant hand so i think u shud just stick with wut ur doing

No, it would be less faster, cuz i am right handed and i catch with my left also and my blocker is on my right and i am a lot faster catching with my left hand than my right.  I dont know if my hand just got used to going up so fast, but for some reason my left hand never seems to go up as fast at all. Hope that helps

Good thought, but no....What you need to to is add strength to both,hands/arms/shoulders, so that both hands are as strong/fast as they can be. You need to bounce tennis balls, golf balls, reaction balls and catch them with both hands. Do this with and without your gloves to increase speed and control, plus hand eye coordination which is the biggest thing here. Also take a broom stick, cut it to about 2 1/2 foot long, drill a hole in the middle,tie a rope through it and add weight to the bottom and use it to roll up and down without touching the ground to add stregnth to your wrists and forarms.

  To perfect your shot as a lefty, since you are shooting with the other hand as a goalie, tape an old hockey sock around your blade with a few pucks in it then practice the shooting motion to get hand strenght and stick control.
