So Im in a league that plays 4 times a week, and i need pads to last just two seasons. I take good care of my equipment and i know neither of the pads above are that great of pads.m I need pads fast, preferebly butterfly pads, and with shipping they need to come to less then 280. A lot of pads don't come in the 33 inch size I need. I have tried to find reebok 6k's but I can't for the right size / price. Which would you reccomend if the itech 4.8 x wings or the RBK x pulse?, or maybe theres a better pad for the same price?

  1. in that price range I would go with the Itech's or look into Mission - is this for ice or roller hockey?

OK if this is for ice .. I would go with Itech.

D&R Bulletproof 6.2 is descent if you're playing C league or lower but I don't think any stores in the States sell them. Look them up on Ebay ..

  2. I'm not a fan of Itech, and although i have yet to use RBK I've heard nothing but good things.  I personally use Simmons 994's and i absolutely love them and i highly recommend them.  They are very inexpensive, especially for the quality of pad you are getting.  They are equal to or better than the RBK 6's for a much lower price.  If you wanna check them out go to www.donsimmons.com otherwise get the RBK's.

  3. I personally own Itech 4.8 X Wings, and have for about a year now. They have been holding up pretty well, i've been on the ice numerous times for practices and games and play in a roller hockey leauge every week   at least 4 times a week switching up.   I have 34"  and 1" probably wouldnt hurt you so try those.  You get what you pay for, and these pads are a tad bit better then the RBK X Pulse.  They are cheaply made and my friends have had so many problems with them its ridiculous. X Wings arent much better, but this is the choice id go with and you should stay with itech.  If youd like more information on these pads email me at thepuckstopshere93@yahoo.com

  4. The Itech 4.8 is a low-end pad, and will break down very quickly; two guys in my league have had bad experiences with the 4.8's; we're in a beer-league but literally the pads didn't even survive one 26-game season.

Under 300 is a challenge; you may want to look on ebay.

  5. I wouldnt recommend RBK if you are looking for a pad that holds up.  RBK stuff isn't well made and falls apart quick.  I would recommend Eagle, it is considerably cheaper than most big name companies, but their stuff is high quality.  I think it will be close as far as price, maybe a little more.  I have Eagle Sentry's and I love them.  You would be able to get whatever size you need and custom colors for no extra price.

  6. Itech its good but not great but its cheaper then most RBK,  If you want expensive and good pads go with Montreal or Vaughn for better prices look for Itech/eagle. 4.8 last 2-3 seasons no problem if you don't wreck them. Don't buy old Sherwood pads and D&R Goalie Pads.
