Is the R a width thing?

(I have wide feet)

I thought the width measurements were D, EE, and stuff like that.

I already understand the general sizing techniques of skates thanks to this page:

but what does the R mean?

Here is an example:

  1. R as is in regular, or standard width.

  2. regular so u would have to go to a bigger size

  3. Hai!

    Umm...Right?

  4. Like I know

  5. Some Brands use R for regular and W for wide.

  6. R = Regular, the same as D width basically.

Skate sizing charts can't always be accurate you'd be much better off trying the skates on because they can't account for length, width and depth for everyones weird feet.

Rule of thumb - try only to buy online if it's a massive saving because you may have additional costs you wouldn't get at a shop like baking/sharpening/profiling not to mention getting the RIGHT size.

  7. RIGHT??   idfk..

  8. it means 7 regular.

  9. i actually think are is small. i know that D is a reagular width and a E or EE is wider, i havent heard of R so i would assume its smaller, if your foot is wider, you might want to try an E or EE, go to a proshop and have them fit you, everyone thinks they have wide feet, but it a lot of cases they just dont have a proper fitting skate, also brands like CCM and Graf run a little bit wider naturally, so you might not have to get an E in those brands, to find a skate that is perfect for your foot you have to try on several pairs, remember every foot is different so whats right on a scale for one person might we wrong on a scale for another!
