Hockey Shouldrer Pads?

I'm a forward that like to play defense and block shots. What CHEAP chest protector would be flexible and light but still offer a lot of protection?? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!

  1. Like anything in life, you are going to get what you pay for....

    There are a lot of different kinds of pads on the market to choose from. Shoulder pads come in three basic types. A hard outer shell, with all kinds of pads underneath will give you the best protection, but tend to be big, and bulky. Then you have the other end of the spectrum, with shoulder pads that are basically a soft but dense foam covered in a ballistic nylon. These are very flexible, and commonly used by the pros for their minimalistic obtrusuveness. However, they don't offer much protection. They wear them just because they need SOMETHING to protect them. (I think there are some guys who don't wear any) Then there is a hybrid kind that incorporates foam, and hard shell technology combined. These are the most popular with the recreational player, and are available widly at pro shops, and online.
