Hockey Update: KLHC to play hard games of MHL
The Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) is going to play crucial matches of the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) in the coming weekend, where it will play against Sapura and outstanding squad of Yayasan Negri Sembilan (YNS).
The KL-Hockey Club, which had already missed three points by losing first competition of the league against Tenaga Nasional Berhard (TNB), will face Sapura on December 31st at the Tun Razak Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Malaysian
Hockey League (MHL) will be resumed on the same date after two-week hiatus.
The defending champion, KL-Hockey Club could not bear any more loss at this level, as it has also missed a stunning Charity Shield in the opening match. Any further defeat will oust it from the race towards the final of the tournament.
The KLHC will have to contest a tough game against Sapura. This time Sapura is more powerful with the inclusion of a Pakistani star, Rehan Butt, who is master striker and can break the defence of any team.
Interestingly, KL-Hockey Club has severe problems with its defence as they lost first game against TNB due to this weak point. Megat Azraffiq and Baljit Singh usually give numerous fouls at the defensive position, which gave short corner opportunities to
the opponent side.
On the other hand, Ahmad Kazamirul and S. Kuhan of Sapura are excellent strikers who will definitely take advantage of the lose defence of the rival side.
Meanwhile, the attacking line of KL-Hockey Club has also potential to break the defence of Sapura, which is comprised of legendary players.
The attacking players including Mohd Shahrun Nabil, Mohd Shukri Mutalib and Kelvinder Singh have not delivered any outstanding performance in the tournament thus far.
KL-Hockey Club coach, K Dharmaraj talking to the media said, “It is a crucial weekend and we have to get maximum points from these two matches. We have been working hard in training and corrected the mistakes made in the first match.”
The KLHC coach further said that the opponent, Sapura will be a hard team, which have experienced players and have strong in all sections, adding that they would have to improve their game if they want to move ahead.
