On a two on one when the pass the puck to shoot I lead with my glove or blocker when sliding and I would like to know isn't it just better to slide with the leg then the rest of the body?

  1. The proper save selection when a pass is made across ice on a 2on1 is a T-push across the crease and you get set and make the save.  This is obviously only an option if you are a strong skater and can get over in time to make the save.

Your other option would be a butterfly slide across your crease.  When you are sliding, you should pivot your hips towards the direction you are going to slide, then push and your front leg should go down first, but you want to close up both legs quickly not dragging one leg up, which opens up alot of holes down low.  You want to be compact and slide quickly across to make the save.  you want your whole body to slide over not just your leg.  This will make more surface area available to stop the shot, and put you in good position if there is a rebound.

  2. on a 2 on 1 you shouldn't butterfly slide unless theirs no time to get over for the shot

you should t-push over and get set for the shot so that ur not moving when he's shooting.

you''ll also take uo more ne t this way.

because if the person sees you go down he may got top shelf in stead.

i believe i get more power when sliding with the whole body and you get to your pistion a lot faster and take up more net

  3. No, because if they shoot high you don't stand a chance.  You don't want to commit until it's absolutely necessary any way so if you're in a situation where you're sliding you want anything and everything you have in the way of the puck or you won't stand a chance.

  4. I believe with the t-push you may not get over in time but that all depends on how close they are, if they are probably going to shoot right away then I would padstack but they have to be close enough because then they just make another pass and score, otherwise t-push or if you are a good shuffler then shuffle.
