  1. use one leg to boost off and kinda jump up on both your skate, if you get what I mean.

  2. keep with what you're doing if you get up with two legs at a time you leave a GIGANTIC 5-hole just begging to be scored on.  if you really want to cut two C's in the ice as you push yourself up, but again it's not smart to do.  You take you legs completely out of the equation and you're horribly off balance in addition to being caught with a huge 5-hole.

  3. If you really want to expose your five hole (which you shouldn't if you have good stick position and control) then you can dig your toes into the ice and roll back, pulling with the weight of your torso. When I was in training they had me keep at a low level and constantly go down and roll up slightly then back down again. Then I would practice my balance by digging my toes into the ice while in a squat position (almost in the butterfly) and stay there as long as possible while moving my stick in different positions to throw my body off and strengthen my balance.

  4. Man I do it a weird way where I just kind of pop back up using my thighs it looks so smooth but don't worry about it as long as you're fast enough doing what you're doing now.
