  1. 1. High

    2. Certain

    3. Pretty Good

    4. Moderate

    5. Low

    6. Painfull

    7. Very good with, Pretty good without

    8. 2 Cups

  2. 1. Good chance now that they made him their first priority

    2. Sure thing

    3. Sure thing

    4. Moderate chance, wait and see how much is left in the bank after other resignings

    5. Slim chance, deserves a greater salary that other teams are more willing to offer

    6. Not hard, they are pretty much numbers 1, 2, and 3 on the priority list

    7. Hossa is clutch, with him they'll play at the same caliber as their early playoff run

    8. More than any other team in the NHL :)

  3. 1) that deal is really appealing to him.. so he'll probably take it

    2) they're already making a deal with him so he doesn't get offered money July 1st. We're keeping him.

    3) you butchered his name, but that's okay =) - we don't have to start worry about him until next season.

    4) same goes with him, his contract isn't up yet.

    5) I keep hearing such horrible things about him leaving. He's my favorite player, so i HOPE he stays =\

    6) We don't have to sign Malkin, cause his contract isn't up - but not that hard.

    7) We don't NEED hossa, but he's a good player to have on the team - THAT's for sure.

    8) 2.

  4. 1. 99% We offered him a contract already.

    2. We filed a salary arbitration on him....he'll be here next year.

    3. Gino already said he's going to get and extended contract July 1st.

    4. This is an iffy one. I'm not quite sure honestly. This is the only one that stumps me. We have him through next year though.

    5. 0%.....We offered him two contract; he turned them down. He's asking for 5 mil....we know he's not worth it and can't afford it. There are trade talks of trading him to Columbus here within a week or so.

    6. Not as hard as people are thinking.

    7. Next year WITH Hossa...(yes, I'm being positive)....we should do well; just like this year. I'm not predicting though.

    8. I'M NOT PREDICTING.

  5. Pittsburgh better get active, with only 14 players signed for next year they got to get their pens (excuse the pun) active. As to your questions.

    1. Somewhere between slim and none and slim was last seen getting on a stage out of town. About 0%

    2. MAF will be resigned and a long term Luongo-esque contract signed before the end of the season.

    3. Malkin is already under contract for this year. He will not be signed. Pitt will take a chance on someone offering him an offer sheet next year with the fist full of Draft choices or a Don Corleone type offer next years.

    4. Jordan will be resigned with Staal like numbers.

    5. Malone is gone.

    6. Impossible.

    7. They will contend without Hossa possibly even winning the Cup.

    8. They will likely double their present total.

  6. its possible they will resign them all and get some mre good players from free agenty.

its possible for anything in the NHL. look at red wings last 2 years they didnt make it to the finals and they got there act togther and traded players and was on a mission to win. anything is possible

  7. cgnut

Some people just enjoy making conversation...it's called being social.  You should try it sometime to improve your attitude.

  8. 1. Hossa's chances: Large

    2.Fleury's chances: Large

    http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=240602&lid=s...

    3. Malkin said Thursday at the NHL Awards Show that he expects to sign a five- or six-year extension "soon" after July 1st.

    4. Staal: Not sure, we'll see next year

    5. Malone:Oilers GM Kevin Lowe may have called Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero about unrestricted free-agent winger Ryan Malone...

If not, Malone's probably going to Columbus.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_da...

    6. That's what Shero is working on

    7. With Hossa:Cup contender

Without: means we probably still have big parts of our team, and were able to sign them, so they'll still be in the top 5 in the East....

8.That's something we'll have to wait and see, for all we know, Toronto could win the Cup next season with  a few adjustments...

  9. 1. 3/10

    2. 0/10

    3. 2/10

    4. 2/10

    5. He's being traded to Columbus

    6. Very

    7. They'd probobaly do good without him, but he definetly adds to the scoring department

    8. 1

  10. Hossa wants to stay. Its just a matter of taking 8mill.

MAF is here to stay for atleast 4-5 years. they've already filed it.

Malkin Wants 5-6 years with less money than Sid, so he'll be fine too.

Staal is the nucleus of the team according to Shero (5 names to build this team around)... BUT he might want to seek free agency. So hes up in the air.

Zero. the west will overpay for him (5mill) and hes going to be gone. its sad to say, but true. and it will open money for the rest of the players you named.

Not hard. I think its very do able actually.

Another deep playoff run then who knows.

    2-3 i say.

Hey bud im from Pitt, and i got season tickets. i must say for the latest news, check the message boards at www.letsgopens.com -- i found out we grabbed Hossa 5 minutes before it was announced. its a great site for up to date information of the PENS!

    Take care. Thanks for supporting.

  11. 1.) Should be very high, what with Ryan expected to leave.

    2.) Absolutely WILL be done.

3.) They'll re-sign him, for now...Watch out in a few years though, if Hossa's deal terms are similar to what I've heard...He or Staal would likely be gone later, if not sooner.

    4.) See 3.

5.) Next to zero, at this point...so much for the "hometown discount."

6.) Absolutely feasible. I believe it WILL be done, and be done before next season.

7.) We'll be fine, because Hossa and Crosby on the top line, and a whole year to get better...watch out.

8.) Too many variables exist in this great sport to make ANY guesses/ guarantees here...You saw how close we came this year, but its a GRIND. The toughest road to the trophy in any pro sport is never easily travelled.

Also, your SN scares me to death. I'm also Dan D...If your middle initial is 'J', I'm going to have to kill you. ;(

  12. 1. Chances of us signing Marian Hossa is fairly good.  Pens offered him a 7 year/$50 million deal. Now they are waiting to see if he accepts it.

    2.  Fleury is not going anywhere anytime soon.

    3.  Evgeni Malkin should be interesting...He is expecting an extension after July 1st for around a 5 year deal worth $8 million - $8.7 mill a year. But there is also trade RUMORS if the Pens sign Hossa, then they could end up trading Malkin by next years trade deadline.  (doubt they will trade him anytime soon though)

    4. Jordan Staal will most likely remain a penguin, we can resign him for $4 million a year.  He could also be moved up to a winger with Malkin, like his rookie season if he doesn't stay on 3rd line center.

    5.  Ryan Malone is going to be gone because he wants more money than the Pens have already offered him, and the Pens will have no need for him for when the resign Hossa.

    6.  To resign Hossa, Malkin, and Fleury won't be hard. The salary cap goes up around $3 million every year, and Hossa and Malkin want to remain Pens.

    7.  The Pens will make it to at least the conference finals if Hossa stays.  If he leaves, they still can make it to at least the conference finals, cause the Pens will be able to find other talent in the free agency market.

    8.  I think the Pens will win 3 to 5 cups in the next 15 years.  There is a salary cap now, and the Pens have said they plan on using all of that money on talented players, and they have the money to do it now.

Just predictions, I am a huge fan of the Pens and the sport of hockey.
