  1. That's why you always bring at least two sticks to a game. The back-up is to do a Tony Granato impersination on naysayers like TT

  2. Because we have so much damm tape and new sticks are expensive. Basically we just have a crapload of tape lying around and is a quick fix. Hockey players tape everything. Everything

  3. they are expensive.

  4. They do it to stop the puck from sliding down the blade of the stick when they shoot or pass.

  5. They don't tape them because they are broken, they tape them to get more grip on the puck.

  6. hey dont exclude us minority playres that cant afford to buy a brand spankin new stick everytime ours breaks in half.  I have found that duct tape, followed by a glue gun, followed by scotch tape works best for blades.  It's actually stronger than when it wasnt broken!!!1

  7. money? plus the tape is used for grip. i dont really know of anyone that tapes it if it broken

  8. oh..my..god.......

  9. LOL, hilarious.  Am I the only one here that thinks you're joking?

  10. i dont play or watch hockey.. but ill say they do it maybe for control  of the puck? its hard to control a wet puck with a wood stick.. but i could be wrong

  11. lol FU

  12. Wow.

  13. OK, I was actually a little amused by this question, no offense.

But, we tape our sticks on the blade to help create friction between the blade and the puck, helps keep better control. Also, we tape the sticks on top so it is easier to hold the stick with one hand. The "k**b" at the top prevents the stick from sliding out of your hands.

And honestly, with as heavy as a puck is, a broken stick wouldn't last long at all.

One more thing. Good hockey sticks are no less than $150. The best sticks push $300.

  14. I always tape mine up nice a tight because sometimes... well you never know for sure.

  15. Tape on the blade allows better puck control...
