Hockey skate? help me quick!?

hey guys...i have a new pair of skates that i am breaking in..and when i wear them for a while the little bone on the top of my foot starts to hurt....how can i prevent it??

  1. You may have to break them in a little bit more for that to completely go away.

    Also, you may be tying them too tight in that area, try not pulling to hard when you get to that spot.

    Another thing to try is to not use the top eyelet or two. I don't lace my skates all the way up. I get a bit more movement in my ankle that way, a better feel, and more comfort when I skate.

  2. Get a pair of skate socks. You can get them at HockeyGiant or GreatSkate. If you have a pair of thermal hunting socks those will also work well.

  3. Wear some thick socks and don't lace them too tight.

  4. I had the same problem and had to get rid of the skates.  I developed a ganglion cyst (basically, it's a hard blister under the skin) that had to be dealt with by a doctor.  In the end, I ended up paying for those d**n skates three times over (doctor bills).  

    The cyst was painful and hurt when I put on my beat up running shoes.  Sometimes, the skate just doesn't fit properly.
