My mom and dad are getting me something for my birthday and today I wanted to go with them to pick out a REALLY nice pair of hockey skates. I just had the Vapor 40's and they were amazing but now they are so small i can't even put my foot in them. Since they are combining the present they'll let me get a really nice pair but what skates can I get that will top the Vapor 40's? FYI I'm not some really little kid who's never played hockey before I've played since I was 3 years old and now I'm 17.

  1. Whatever fits your foot best. The Vapor 40 is a mid of the line skate, a lot will top that. If you fit the Bauers well in terms of foot shape, try the One 90. You should be able to get them on sale since the new top skate is the ONe95 (600 bucks, it's unreasonable)

The CCM U+ is supposed to be nice, Pretty expensive at well. Try an old vector 10:

Or an Easton Synergy 1500 if you can find it, or a stealth 11 or above.

It all depends on the budget. A really nice pair of skates runs around 600 bucks these days, I doubt you parents are going to spring for that. But an older top model you can get on sale online for cheap.

  2. CCM Vectors rock

  3. Yeah CCM vectors are pretty awesome. Or you could try Eastons. Are you a skater or a goalie?  good goalie skates are Koho and Reebok. Try discounthockey.com , hockeymonkey.com , and goaliemonkey.com.

I have CCM vectors now. They are nice and comfortable. They totally rock!

  4. I like The CCM Vectors. But I also liked the RBK 9k pump skates, They were pretty light and I just liked the way they felt when I skate.

  5. i got a pair of RBK 7K skates (with pump) on sale. they're amazing. very comfortable too, i would recommend them. Grafs are very nice skates, but VERY expensive. Try different skates on and see what you like, everyone is different.

  6. That depends on your parents and what kind of skate you're used to. I personally prefer CCM

ps: A lot of pro-shops and places like Play it Again Sports have a trade-in or conseignment program.
