Hockey skating help!?

hi i have been using my new easton synergy 500 skates to three 1 and a half hour public sessions and they still seem to hurt my ankles when i am trying to keep my knees bent on my strides. i think they just need broken in and i know that i am not tieing them too tight. also i am getting better at being able to stay farther away from the boards and taking 3 or 4 strides, then gliding for a little and then repeating the process. although, sometimes i have a hard time taking strides after i have been gliding and end up losing my balance or getting off my rhythm and then have to go back to the boards and do it again. any tips are well appreciated and i was wondering if this is good progress for only having gone skating for 3 times.

thanks

  1. yeah just keep trying, and have you baked your skates to get them broken in? if not you can either bake them, which mosst rinks will do for idk how much, but another way to break them in is to fill the boot with shaving cream then put your foot in, this way is a little messy though but i think it works best.
