  1. hey, picking a hockey stick is a very personal thing as everyone will have different opinions.  5,9 140 flex you should be looking for a senior probably 85 flex.  Yet if your shot isnt very strong you may get away using a intermidiate stick or 75 flex.  Try flexing the stick at the store you should be able to benf it pretty good but not too much cause u dont want a noodle.  I have tried all different kinds of stick and really like the nike/bauer.  I right now am using the nike/bauer x*x but is out of your price range.    Again sticks are very personal i have tried synergy stealths, intrigues, responses, and never liked them much even though they are all great sticks.  In choosing a blade it comes down to prefernce some like little curve some like lots of twist its all preference.  Normally the more cure the higher your shot will be so if your ripping it high all the time try to chooce a blade with less twist/ curve.  Im using the lindros curve right now and its perfect for me not too much curve but enough to let it buck lol.  Just walk into the store and try to find a stick you like not one they tell you is the best.  good luck man

  2. I would recomend you get a CCM Vector.

They are mostly sold for $99 but you can get it as low as $50 in certain places. Try sports websites. They can give you VERY low prices.

  3. The Bauer One50 is, in my opinion, the best entry level composite stick on the market. It is a heavier piece than the one70 or one90, but has the same range of flexes and curves. I am seeing plenty of fellas taking the ice with this twig, but it's better suited to a grinder because of the weight, if your game is more finesse, this may not be the stick for you. My pro shop has the one50 priced at $70

  4. Right now I have a Nike/Bauer XII. The stick has an amazing blade on it, the only thing wrong with it is it's pretty heavy for a stick (Way heavier than it should). I've played with a XVI and it's a good stick. It's lighter than a XII, but the blade is a bit different. I don't know very much on the S5 though.I think it's lighter than the XII but I'm not sure. I don't suggest the XII. Has a great shot but it's too darn heavy. Get the XVI. It's just like the XII just lighter.Good Luck with your decision.
