  1. Hope you feel better soon.

To me, Hockey is life. It is like vodka for a Russian, or pizza for a New Yorker, I just cannot live without Hockey.

  2. Aww, I hope you feel better soon!

I love hockey because it's a way for me to step away from real life and everything going on and watch a good game for a couple of hours.  My sister was actually a fan first but didn't have cable, so she always called me to watch the game for her and commentate (this was years ago when the games were only on PASS sports).  My commentary skills were awful back then and I couldn't even follow the puck on TV.   It took me a little while, but after I started watching it, I started to really like it and have been a fan ever since.

  3. im sick toooo

well to me hockey takes up like 30% of my day so yeah its really important to me

like sometimes watching the devils play is the only good part of my week and when they lose i just dont stop thinking about the game for a couple of hours

so i take it seriously and dont know what ill do this summer

  4. Hockey is EVERYTHING to me.

  5. Hockey pretty much consumes my life during the season.  I've never played, but I follow my team so much that it takes a lot of time away from everything else every week.  Girlfriends always hated when football (American - GO BEARS!) and NHL seasons overlapped.

  6. Get better :)

Hockey means everything to me, without it I would be lost in life!

It's also therapy to me it helps me get away from things... like school.

  7. Here's hoping you are on the road to recovery!  Lots of fluids, lots of rest, don't eat dairy products (if you have head and chest congestion), and lots of hot baths!

What does hockey mean to me?

Well, I learned to skate when I was 3, and I immediately chose number "17" to be like my idol - my older Brother (10 years older) who taught me to skate.  He coached me as I got older and brought together a great bunch of young guys who's goals were to have fun and play as hard as they can!  He instilled those virtues in each of us through a game!  So, hockey became about fun and life lessons for me.

Then, as I got older, I took all that I had learned to teams in higher levels of hockey.  Still, as number 17 in order to honour my Brother, I took on leadership roles in my hockey as Captain of some good teams.  I learned that you try so hard to win, but always fair, and yet sometimes life just does not work out the way you want it - sometimes you lose in overtime!  Being a team sport, you learn though it that you have to depend on others and that there is nothing more significant than sacrifice for others and having them sacrifice for you - it's a beautiful thing!

Then, as I moved into the men's divisions of non-contact hockey available for adulthood, I found still another meaning for me within hockey.  My recently departed dear Mother asked me once why I still continued to play with a hurt back, shoulder injuries, etc.... and I said "When I get out there; when I touch that ice for game time, there is nothing else except the anticipation of effort, excitement, and fun.  All my other troubles are gone.  It's just the game within those boards - nothing else exists for those couple of hours!"  So, for me, it's my mini-vacation from things every week... it's my fun, my exercise, my comraderie with great people, and my escape from the hard things that are on one's mind as an adult.

The game is a beautiful game!  I know that I really enjoy other sports too and have done so always, but hockey is that key sport for me that I can not be without.  I'm 37 now and just played an entire season on torn ligaments in my hip!  Crazy, right!?  Well, my hip will heal, but winning the league on the final day of the regular season, then winning the playoffs, and then winning the "Tournament of Champions" for that league - well, I will remember all of that and the players I joined on that team a lot longer than my hip problem and such memories are only ever going to make me smile!  That's hockey to me!

  8. The Ottawa Senators mean a lot to me. Even though I'm only able to watch a few games a season because I moved to Michigan. I'm still up on all the current events, and I sometimes listen to the games on NHL.com. My room is decorated with all kinds of Ottawa parafanalia, and I'm ready for a hopefully better season this fall.

    Get well soon

  9. The "disagreements" between opponents are great!

  10. it means giving me something to do during the winter season. it gives me something to look forward to!

    get better!

  11. hockey= my life

i hope you get well soon <3

  12. Hockey means going really slow and falling down a lot. Oh, and getting the puck stolen from me! JK, but not really. ;D I just started hockey last year and I've got to tell you... not pretty. :D But I find it incredebly fun. Except I had pnemonia(sp?) for about 2-3 weeks that I was playing and it didn't exactly improve my skills. :) But I found out I had it later and got treated. Though I still do cough often...

    I hope you feel better!

  13. weird, my days are phill'd with double digit mania circa [0h say aroun` 99 ] when i dream now of reaching grand daddy age  makin sure the playmaking skills of the great one remain an everyday gesture of wins !!

  14. Hockey is my life! Seriously i eat breathe and live hockey!

My room is full of posters and equipment, medals and trophies! I have a ton of clothing and jerseys and i pretty much talk everyday about hockey!

I love the game and i love to play it everyday!

  15. Hockey has been my life since i was 3 and learned to skate. Even BEFORE that, my parents set up a hockey net in my basement for me, bought me a stick and some pucks and i was taking shots off the unfinished concrete floor. Plus Im a huge Bruins fan. Fifteen years of disappointment, but I love 'em anyways.

  16. I love hockey is totally my sport..even though i'm a girl.....the checks, fights...action love evry part of the game..eat,sleep..hockey
