England’s manager, Roy Hodgson has gone on to admit that he is finally starting to feel the pressure of being in charge of the Three Lions.
In his first tournament as the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 manager, he went on to see his team crash out in the quarter finals via a penalty shootout.
Despite him being criticised for the team’s loss, a lot of critics also agree with the fact that the manager did far better than anyone had initially thought he would be able to do.
Hodgson has admitted that there is a lot of pressure involved in being the manager of the national team, but he enjoys the challenge and is looking to help the team progress even further in the future.
"I don't know how much I enjoy it," Hodgson told reporters.
"I enjoy the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 of being the England national team manager and I accept the things that go with that.”
He then added that he had no interest in being caught on camera and living like a celebrity, as he stated: "I certainly don't seek out the cameras but I know they're going to follow me and I have to learn to live with it. I'm sure I will get caught out on
many occasions doing something I shouldn't!"
However, he went on to claim that it was always a little harder to motivate the players to play for their country. This was because of the fact that they didn’t get paid to represent the national team, which is why more than often, players have been caught
up in a dilemma over what team to prefer.
When talking about the club vs country problems that occur with players these days, Hodgson went on to add: "We can never get away from the fact we as a national team don't pay the players.”
"They play for the honour of representing their country, and their money and livelihood comes from the clubs.”
Nonetheless, with Hodgson now having two years to prepare the team for the World Cup 2014, he is bound to be able to get everyone up and going, while building a very strong team that might just be able to surprise everyone and go all the way.
