England’s manager, Roy Hodgson has gone on to reveal that he was thoroughly impressed by the performances of Chelsea’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Cleverley-c35218 have a great future ahead
of themselves.
The GB team managed to make it all the way to the quarter finals of the competition, but went on to crash out against South Korea in the end, via a penalty shootout.
Despite the team falling out of the contest, some of the players still managed to put on very impressive displays and these displays have caught the eyes of Roy Hodgson.
The manager is now considering utilizing some of these younger players and incorporating them into his team, as he looks to build for the future.
The manager has a lot of time ahead of himself to get the team up and running for the World Cup in 2014, but based on his comments about the youngsters from the GB team, he might have already short listed a few candidates.
"Most of them (the GB players) are pretty much ready anyway, but one or two of the younger players like Bertrand and Sturridge and players like Tom Cleverley, who is coming back from injury, may have not been quite so much a fixture in their teams.”
"Let's hope the Olympic experience with Team GB has given them a better chance of staking a claim for a regular spot."
Hodgson is set to manage the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad for a friendly against Italy, which is set to take place on the 15th of August. The manager is bound to try and use some of these players from the Olympics in his team, while utilizing his start players
from the Euro 2012.
“There will be players involved in that game who weren't part of the Euros and I'm sure http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 will make changes too, so it won't be two similar line-ups from the quarter-final but it will be quite interesting to play so soon after our elimination against them,"
he added.
It is now a wait to see just what the team will look like, once Hodgson manages to make all the changes that he wants to.
