http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’s manager, Roy Hodgson has gone on to admit that he has some serious concerns over the feasibility of the Three Lions’ match taking place on Wednesday.
The match was initially supposed to take place on Tuesday night, but had to get delayed due to a water logged pitch.
Despite it raining, the stadium’s roof was not closed, which allowed rain to pour in for hours. After which it was agreed by all parties that the ground was in no condition to be played on, and hence the game had to be called off.
Despite the match being rescheduled, Hodgson still has a lot of concerns over the match and feels that twenty four hours isn’t enough time for the pitch to return to perfect conditions.
"The pitch is in a very poor condition," Hodgson said.
"There's water lying on the surface and it's going to need a lot of work on it to be playable tomorrow afternoon."
However, the manager insisted that he would be playing the same team that he was going to play on Tuesday, as he feels that any more changes could lead to disastrous results for the team.
"I hope so, people can fall ill but I chose the team I wanted to start the game and I have no intention of changing it," he revealed.
"The players are disappointed because when you play a game in the evening you spend a long day preparing for it. We're very unhappy about it but what can you do. No one can decide whether it's going to rain or not rain."
Prior to the match kicking off, there were a lot of doubts over just who would start for the team. At the same time, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player in the starting eleven.
With the match now being played on Wednesday, and with most of the Premier League stars set to play on Saturday, it is a wonder if the players will be fit in time to play for their club teams, given the short recuperation period that they will be getting.
