http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’s manager, Roy Hodgson has revealed that he is looking to build the team for the future and that he isn’t only focused on the short term success.
The manager came in to take over as the new boss of the national team, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello decided to call it quits.
Following his appointment at the end of April, he went on to manage his first match as the England manager in a friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974. His side went on to win by one goal to nil.
The team is now set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 in another friendly and then travel to participate in the Euro 2012.
In the past, England haven’t performed as well as they should have in competitions. However, Hodgson is looking to change this, as he hopes to take the team as far as he can.
He admitted that he was working with the team, but also stated that given the time on his hands, he will do the best that he can, while helping build the squad for the 2014 World Cup as well.
Hodgson is quoted to have said: "I am looking beyond the Euros. The fact is I signed a contract to do this http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 over the coming years, so I have my sights firmly fixed on the future"
"I also want to do well in the Euros with the team and I will try to get the team as well-organised and well-prepared as I can.”

"But I am not prepared to make the Euros the be-all and end-all."
It is interesting to see Hodgson plan two years in advance, considering the fact that he was just brought into the squad. Many believe that he was brought in to try and help the team get through the Euros, before another manager was hired to see the team
through the world cup.
However, considering how Hodgson is looking at things, the FA might just realize that their rather quick decision to hire Hodgson, might just prove to be one of the better ones that they have made.
It is now a wait to see just how far the manager takes the national team.
