Hodgson refuses to speculate on his future with Liverpool
Liverpool succumbed to their ninth defeat of the season after they were thrashed 3-1 by Blackburn at Ewood Park. The result brings manager Roy Hodgson dangerously close to the axe, just six months after taking over at the helm.
Two goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 did manage to pull one back for his side late in the second half; however, it wasn’t enough to spur a Liverpool comeback.
The result leaves the Reds floundering in 12th position, just four points away from the relegation zone. If things don’t change soon, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 might just find themselves in the bottom three before the end of the month. It’s a phenomenal fall
from grace for a club with such a storied history.
At the post-match conference, a downbeat Hodgson refused to comment on his future at Anfield. He said, “I am not prepared to talk about that because obviously I am depressed enough with the performance and the result. I have no comments to make and I have
no intention to answer any questions on the subject. As far as I am concerned it is a really bad day and there is not much more I can say other than, to the fans, that anything they are feeling tonight I can assure them the feeling is equally as bad and equally
as depressed in the dressing room.”
It seems that manager Roy Hodgson is on borrowed time at the moment. The 63-year-old has completely lost the support of the fans. It was the first time that the Darwen End of Ewood Park had not been filled to capacity by the Liverpool support. New http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749
Sports Ventures, who bought the club earlier this season, are worried.
Roy Hodgson has been edging closer and closer to the axe ever since Liverpool started their alarming descent towards the bottom half of the table. This latest result might just be the final push that drives the 63-year-old over the edge.
