The England boss cannot wait for the striker to make his comeback for the National side after being sidelined due to injury.
While his European Championships may not have delivered the performance everyone was hoping for, it’s no secret that the Three Lions are heavily dependent on the forward’s creativity when searching for goals.
Wayne Rooney has been a regular member of the England team for quite some time now and although he can’t replicate what he does in a Manchester United shirt, things have always looked bright for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 star.
After missing out on the opening two games of Euro 2012, Rooney made his return late on and inspired the side to secure a position in the knock-out rounds. But the 1966 World Cup winners struggled against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and were eventually knocked out of the composition by the Azzurri.
Nonetheless, they have started their 2014 Qualifiers on a high and have managed to draw and win once as they search for a place in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858.
Rooney was injured during United’s clash with Fulham, when a deep gash on his thigh raised the Old Trafford panic alarms, before it was determined that the player had not been affected that severely.
However, the front-man will make his return at the end of the month but England manager Roy Hodgson can’t wait to name him in the team, as the squad does not have anyone with his abilities.
“We'll get the best out of him because he's desperate to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Wayne is an excellent footballer and with quality players the quality is permanent. The general opinion after the Euros was that he didn't play well."
“I'm not going to stand here arguing and defending and debating that but I'm not certain I totally agree with it. I still think I've got a very good player in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736. The sooner he comes back into our fold the better,' said Hodgson. 'We are short of experienced and quality front players in England. He's had a nasty injury and we're hoping he gets over it as soon as possible."
England will now play a game when the International fixtures return next month.
