England’s manager, Roy Hodgson has revealed that he is quite sad to see Harry Redknapp part ways with Tottenham Hotspur.
Prior to Hodgson being appointed as England’s manager, Harry Redknapp was believed to be the favourite to get the job.
In fact, almost every player in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad had gone on to admit that Redknapp would have been the ideal manager for the team.
Despite these claims, the English FA went on to appoint Hodgson as the team’s boss in May, leaving Redknapp at Tottenham.
However, with almost everyone expecting Redknapp to take over as England manager, it is believed that the club had started to plan for a future without the manager and this is what paved way for him leaving the team.
Hodgson, when talking about Redknapp and his termination is quoted to have said:  “I was very sad to hear the news. I’ve texted him this afternoon, I don’t expect a reply because I imagine he will be absolutely snowed under at the moment with sympathetic
messages”
"It came as a surprise to me and I’m disappointed for him, and I wish him all the best. And I hope the next job that he wants comes along soon very soon and he’ll be happy in that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.”
Even though he is concerned about the manager and him being terminated, he admitted that he wasn’t the right person to decide whether the decision made by Tottenham was correct or not.
“I’m not in a position to comment on the decision that Spurs have made and I have had no chance to speak to Harry to find out how he feels about it," he added.
Hodgson is quite possibly showing sympathy towards the manager, because of the fact that the two were head and head to get the job of being England’s manager.
However, with Tottenham and Redknapp doing terribly in the last couple of weeks of the season, it seems like the FA made up their mind over who they would hire.
Nonetheless, the board at Tottenham also seemed to have decided that the future for the club did not have Redknapp in it, which is why they ended up letting him leave this early in the transfer window.
