England’s manager, Roy Hodgson insists that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423 will have the ultimate say over whether he is fit enough to play in the Euro 2012 or not.
The Manchester City midfielder went on to pick up an injury in a friendly game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Norway-c2974 and since then, it has not yet been confirmed if he will be able to play for the team in the upcoming completion or not.
Hodgson has stated that the midfielder is set to undergo a scan and some tests, before anything can be said for certain.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 boss insisted that if the tests were inconclusive, he would turn to the player and expect him to be honest about his fitness.
"We only have a couple of days to sort it out and we can't take any risks," Hodgson told reporters.
"He is a very honest individual and whilst the scan will tell us a lot, if it doesn't give us the answer we want I shall be having a very serious discussion with him. He will have to be honest with me and let me know exactly how it is."
He then insisted that if Barry couldn’t make the team, then he would go on and bring in replacements in order to avoid having a void in his team, before such an important tournament kicked off.
"I am prepared to reconfigure," Hodgson added.
"I am not necessarily looking to replace man-for-man in the midfield area because we have a lot of players in that area."
The manager is also waiting on news about Scott Parker, with the Tottenham player yet to prove to be a hundred percent fit and ready to play for the team.
Nonetheless, two players who the manager expects to see in his squad are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 and Glenn Johnson. The duo have been out injured for quite some time, but Hodgson feels that they will be fit in time to represent the team in the upcoming contest.
It is now a wait to see just how makes the final England squad and just how far they manage to take the national team, as they look to win the Euro 2012.
