England’s manager, Roy Hodgson has gone on to warn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 that there is a lot of competition for his spot on the national team, and that he needs to prove his worth or he could end up missing out on the squad list.
The manager feels that the upcoming younger full backs are rather impressive, and as a result, they could soon make their way into the national team.
However, he also stated that the only way the senior players would stay in the squad is if they prove their worth and comply with all the disciplinary rules that the team has set.
He told reporters: "We're not going to be hide-bound to one or two players. We'll have very good alternatives.”
"We're lucky that, alongside Ashley - who was regarded as the only left-back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 for many years - we have Leighton [Baines], who will always push him and some interesting younger left-backs, such as Kieran Gibbs and Ryan Bertrand.”
"It's been a problem position in many of the countries where I've worked, but now we're very well-off. That's encouraging.”
The manger feels that all this competition will force everyone to perform even better, which in turn can only help prove to be beneficial for the Three Lions.
Despite Cole proving to be one of the best players for his position, his recent actions have caused many to question his future for the English national side, and in the English Premier League.
While Cole was busy getting caught in hot water, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kieran-Gibbs-c20945 were out there making a name for themselves.
Both the players have been exceptionally good for their teams this season, and it is believed to be only a matter of time before they come into the Three Lions team and replace Cole.
Nonetheless, should Cole step up to the occasions and take these comments in a positive manner, he could improve his performances even further, which would leave Hodgson with no choice but to continue playing him as the left back for England.
It is now a wait to see just how this situation in the Three Lions camp resolves itself.
