The Bavarian giants’ supremo claimed that they were compelled to pay a record transfer fee for the Spanish international, but believes that there is no burden on the young protégé to play like the top players.
Bayern Munich president, Uli Hoeness, has suggested that the fans should not expect exceptional performances from Javi http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 only because of the big money paid for him. He stated that the price money has nothing to do with the
defensive midfielder’s performance on the pitch, as the two things are not correlated.
The youngster left the Spanish club Athletic Bilbao for Bayern for a record breaking price of €40 million in the summer transfer market, but the club official conceded that the star player’s objective is to shield the Bundesliga

The president stressed that to compare him with world class players such as Messi and Ronaldo is unjust only because of his massive price-tag. The talented midfielder plays in a different capacity to the above mentioned stars and
is a great defensive option for any team.
"You cannot expect him to play like Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo just because he cost us €40m," Hoeness was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 60-year-old further added that the player was very expensive as it was his release fee and the inflation in transfer prices. He commented that in normal circumstances he would have just cost around €10 to €15 million.
"He cost us €40m because that was his release fee, but normally we would have paid €10 to €15m for him,” the former general manager mused.
Hoeness said the versatile player cannot play like top players such as Ronaldo and Messi, but is very good at holding position and can improve the side defensively. He will also help Bayern concede fewer goals.
"We don't expect him to play like Messi or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to protect our defence and make sure we don't concede goals," he finally concluded.
The 24-year-old has played four games for the German club so far.
