The Allianz Arena supremo concedes that the former Bayern Munich defender’s sentence was not justified and has promised to support his family during this tough period.
Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has revealed his disbelief that Breno http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arson-c6674.
The 22-year-old central defender has been punished to three years and nine months in jail after being convicted of burning down his own house in the Grunwald suburb of Munich in September. The youngster will have to serve his sentence
without the option of parole.
The defender will be banished back to his homeland, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, after serving his prison time. The president believes that after the jail term, it will be extremely difficult for the centre-back to return to his normal life. He further
said that the player will not be able to make his living for almost four years for the crime, which was not proven.
Hoeness suggested that there is a massive difference between a person who builds bricks as a living, who can resume his life after his term, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Breno-c8038 a bright prospect who is only a footballer and will lose his value after he
comes out of the prison. This is more than a punishment and seems like a lifetime imprisonment.
"I do not know if one needs really make a distinction between a bricklayer, who can carry on with his profession when he comes out again, and a young footballer, who can do absolutely nothing other than play football. A sentence
must punish someone, but in this case it is almost a life sentence," the Bayern chief stated.
The chief insisted that he was not convinced that the ex-Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 man would end up in jail and that too for a long time. He believes that the sentence should be minimised so that the young defender can have a chance to get his
life back.
"I never, ever imagined that the boy would go to prison, and moreover, for so long. If the decision is not revised, then his life is broken. For me, the verdict was a shock," he concluded.
Moreover, the Bayern official announced that the club will take full responsibility to look after Breno’s family up until his jail time.
