The Bundesliga club have acquired the services of the Cloverleaves’ defender on a free transfer.
Hoffenheim have sealed the signature of Greuther Furth defender, Stephan Schrock, who will ply his trade at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena from next season onwards. The first division club were looking for an established defender who could
bring stability at the back and found their answers in Schrock who impressed in the German Cup semi-final against Borussia Dortmund.
Schrock has been playing at the Trolli Arena since 2001 and broke his way into the senior side in 2004. He has been a phenomenal figure at the second division club and has attracted interest from some of the top clubs in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
The Philippine international showed his delight after signing for Hoffenheim and vowed to justify his selection by helping the club achieving new heights. He mused that the club have made a solid impact in the Bundesliga and it
should be a decent opportunity for him to further build his image at the highest stage.
While talking to official Bundesliga website, Bundesliga.de, the 25-year-old further added: "I'm very much looking forward to the challenge at Hoffenheim, who have made a name for themselves on their way to becoming an established
side in the Bundesliga. I can take the next step in my career here."
On the other hand, Hoffenheim manager, Markus Babbel also expressed his pleasure at the player’s acquisition. He admitted that the club were lining up the former Germany U-20 player for some time and insisted that the player will
prove to be handful from next season onwards. The tactician also mused that Schrock’s arrival will add more variety in defence which the club desperately needs to overcome the poor form this season.
"Stephan Schrock was a prime transfer target for mine. He has all the qualities that a modern day defender needs to have. In signing him we have gained the necessary substance and will have more alternatives in our defensive department
for the future," Babbel concluded.
Hoffenheim are currently 10th in the league standings with 33 points, six points clear of the relegation zone. With seven games remaining this season, Babbel’s men could slump even further if they continue their inconsistent
run in the competition. They will next be in action on Sunday, April 1, against Schalke.
