Vedad Ibisevic, the 27-year-old 1899 Hoffenheim striker, could be heading to the English Premier League after all after the player’s agent revealed he was interested in a move to Blackburn Rovers. After his move in the summer transfer window failed to materialize,
Ibisevic could move to Ewood Park in the summer transfer window.
Blackburn Rovers made an offer of £6 million to the German outfit for the Bosnian forward, but despite talks between the two sides the deal did not go through. While the Blackburn Rovers manager claimed it was because the medical did not go according to
schedule, it was believed that the player did not get his visa on time.
Believed to have applied for a visa, Ibisevic could complete his move to the English Premier League in the winter transfer window. The disappointment of having missed his physical examination because of failure to get the visa has not settled in well with
the Bosnia international, who is determined on a move away from Hoffenheim.
Kean hinted recently that he was still interested in acquiring the services of the 27-year-old striker, after which Ibisevic’s representative Andreas Sadlo revealed that the player was also interested in moving to the English Premier League side.
There is a possibility that talks will re-open close to the January transfer window, with a strong likelihood that Ibisevic will move to Blackburn Rovers. His agent admitted that his client found the Premier League club interesting and was indeed considering
a move there.
Sadlo said while speaking to reporters:
“A lot can happen in six months but Blackburn was an interesting club.
We checked the club - the infrastructure, the facilities - and it is interesting for us.”
Ibisevic previously attracted interest from other Premier League sides including Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion, but decided on a move to Blackburn Rovers. The Bundesliga striker’s agent confirmed that the possible move in the summer
transfer window had fallen through but they had not given up on a move in the future.
He continued:
“It was a possibility, there were negotiations but maybe it was not the right moment.”
